Twenty-one years ago, in 1998, Dr. Fred N. Lerner became the first chiropractor to receive staff credentials at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He maintained his privileges until 2014. He remains devoted to developing complementary medicine within and without the hospital setting as part of a team approach towards patient care. Throughout the early and mid-1990’s, he worked with several State government groups to reform the Workers Compensation system in California. Fred N. Lerner, DC, PhD, FACO, attended the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, now Southern California University of Health and Sciences, and was awarded his Doctor of Chiropractic degree Summa Cum Laude in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 from the University of Touro. Over the years, he has been an active member of the SCUHS Alumni Association for eight years, four of which as its president. Appointed to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2007, he has been elected as Chairman of the Board in 2008 and has embraced that capacity until 2012.
